Male infertility

Male infertility (or subfertility) is the cause of infertility in about half of the couples who are unable to conceive. Male infertility is commonly caused by a deficiency in the number or quality of sperm.
Several studies have demonstrated an increase in the quality and quantity of sperm following a course of acupuncture treatment.

A raised temperature of the testes in the scrotum may be an important cause of male subfertility. Acupuncture treatment can reduce raised scrotal temperatures to normal levels and so may be a particularly effective treatment for men with infertility and raised scrotal temperatures.
